How can it be August already?

It seems like yesterday when Carrie and I were pitching our potential travel ideas to Mommy and Daddy for a big trip in 2026. The options were:
Utah and Colorado
Chicoteague, VA and Asheville, NC
Sedona, AZ
Santa Fe/Tuscon/Albuquerque, NM
Redwoods/Yosemite
MN, WI, and ND (we really want to visit Kabetogama, MN)
Glacier NP with a bit of Yellowstone thrown in

Since then, I've done some research and added a few to the bucket list:
Alaska!
Entire West Coast!
Virginia waterfalls
Door County, WI

If you have read my recent posts, you know we picked Utah and Colorado for our Spring 2026 adventure. It was a bucket list trip for Daddy and we all agreed on the decision. It worked out–we had the best time ever!

Since then, we have stayed home to rejuvenate and get some things done. I have to tell you that I have an itch to go somewhere. Since Daddy picked Utah, Mommy gets to pick the next big trip and she wants to see the Entire West Coast! I'm so excited! I asked Carrie to start planning but she said we'd need to wait until we know where her next professional step lands and what her resulting availability looks like.

I don't really understand that. I love how things are right now. We enjoy time together on the couch drinking coffee and playing on the phone. We post to my socials whenever the mood strikes. Life is nice and easy as it should be. I haven't missed any meals, treats, walks, or smoochies. Life is good! I do trust that sister knows best; so, I'll go with the flow. I know that she will find a new role that fulfills her need to make a difference without taking away from what is most important: Lila and the rest of the herd!

Until Carrie decides to get with the On the Road with Lila program, I'll just tell you about past trips and/or random thoughts in my postcards. This week, I've decided to pick a couple of my favorite pictures from the road and share how they inspired me.

Take time to appreciate the small things. These flowers at Colorado Springs KOA are a perfect example. I saw most people walk by without any notice. I, on the other hand, took time to appreciate the visual and olfactory beauty. Often in life, the things that seem small end up being the greatest source of happiness.

Allow yourself to be silly from time to time. Carrie and I were camping out at the local KOA while work was being done at the house. The site next to us had scary decorations as you can see. Carrie suggested I pose for a picture and it ended up not being scary at all. In fact, we all giggled about it when finished.

Don't let fear of unknown keep you from pursuing something your heart and soul wants. I was sitting in my RV, getting ready to scratch a horrible itch, when a train rumbled by outside and caused me to stop what I was doing. I thought about it and decided a little noise wasn't going to keep me from satisfying that need I so desperately felt.

Until next time, remember that I wuvs you and appreciate you! If you have an itch, give it good scratch. Be a little silly, take time to enjoy the small things (they might actually be big), and plan that next adventure!
