Oh my Goodness! We saw bears and Bigfoot in Tennessee!
Wow! We saw an entire bear family on the way from dinner in Sevierville back to the hotel in Gatlinburg!

Carrie has been a little naughty and neglected working on my postcards the past couple of weeks. I trust you know that I had very little control and would prefer that she never puts any other needs over what I want done. Still, here we are. I've nipped at her heels today until she sat at her laptop and worked on this post. My paws are too clumsy to type; so, I need her assistance.

You may remember me saying that we were planning a trip to North Carolina so we could see new things and get another sticker on our travel map. We recently got back and had a fabulous time. More about North Carolina in a future post. Today, I want to tell you about the fun we had in Gatlinburg on the way to North Carolina!

We have been to the area two other times. Both times, we stayed in Cosby, TN at a wonderful KOA campground. Once in our RV and another time in a cabin. This time, we stayed in downtown Gatlinburg at the Hampton Inn Gatlinburg Historic Nature Trail. It was so much fun! Our room was almost perfect. There was a nice sized living room area with plenty of furniture. I didn't have to compete with the herd for a good spot! There was only a mini-fridge but that worked since we always take my BougeRV fridge/freezer to keep my food just right.

There was one thing I wasn't especially fond of though. Can you believe they let dogs stay in this hotel! What if they bark and disturb my beauty rest? What if they do tinkle time in the hallway? Carrie told me it was ok and I guess I believe her. Anywho, we drove back to the hotel after a long day of fun and what did we see? A dog! On a bed! Looking out the window like it owned the place! Geesh!

We had so much fun shopping. One day, Carrie put my boots on me and I walked around with the herd from shop to shop. We took pictures with some crows and shopped until we literally dropped. Everyone thought I was so cute which made me smile. I kept hearing 'it has boots on' ... 'such a cute doggie' ... 'what a good girl'. I mean, they had shoes on. Why wouldn't I protect my paws from the hot pavement too? Still, I love being told I'm a good, cute girl!

If it had been cooler, we would've taken pictures with all the pumpkins around town but we didn't. There is a picture of Carrie with a pumpkin man ... she is sitting really close to him ... I wonder if she was trying to get him interested in her? Suspect, at the least! Personally, I think she could do better! He wasn't very smart and didn't talk!

Carrie bought some cute tops at the Life is Good store. She tried to get Mommy to buy some so they could be twins. Mommy said nope, she didn't need any. What do you think happened when we got back to the room and Carrie put on a fashion show? Yep! Mommy wanted to go back shopping!

After dinner that day, we braved a rainstorm and bought Mommy her goods! I was too tired to walk and Carrie didn't want me to slow them down; so, she put me in my new bag and carried me on her shoulder. I was really happy because when I heard thunder, I ducked into that bag and only the tip of my nose and my eyes could be seen! Can you believe Carrie complained about me being too heavy to carry that far in the bag? Rude! Think of all the steps she got. Her watch went crazy and said she did over 40 flights of stairs ... thanks to the extra effort of my bag ride, I'm sure!

We went to Preachers Smokehouse one night. I had important car security detail but could see the herd the entire time. They really seemed to enjoy their dinner! On the way back to the hotel, Mommy asked 'is that a bear' which caused Carrie to swerve off the road into an abandoned lot to investigate! My goodness, there were two adult bears and two cubs. They were a good distance from the car thankfully! We watched them for quite a while. Daddy and Carrie were out of the car when one of them started running towards our direction. I didn't know Carrie could move that fast to get back in the car! The bear seemed to smile and then run away in the other direction. What a trickster! If interested, there is video of the bears on my Instagram.

We went to Pigeon Forge another night for dinner (again, car security within sight). I wanted to ride the train but Carrie said no. We saw Bigfoot in front of one of the shops! He wasn't as scary as I had imagined! No bears on that night ... Bigfoot and bears in the same night might have been too much!

I'd better let Carrie get back to looking for another job so she can afford more adventures together! Next time, I'll tell you more about this awesome trip we took. We went into the park, saw waterfalls, shopped some more, took pictures with bears on the streets of Hendersonville, NC, had lunch in Asheville and so much more!

For now, I want to say it was nice catching up with you! Remember to wear your boots when it is hot outside, get someone to carry you when it is stormy and you are tired, and always be on the lookout for bears, crows, and Bigfoot!
