So Many Rocks, Sniffs and Walks around Zion!
If you remember from my previous postcard, the herd and I had an amazing time at Wolf Creek Pass, Durango, Silverton and Mesa Verde (all in Colorado ... I went to Estes Park and Grand Lake, Colorado last year which was also amazing ... in fact, I think Colorado may be one of my top 5 states so far) ... anywho, I got off track ... I was really worried because I thought nothing could compare to what we had already seen and we were scheduled to be on vacation for several more weeks!
It was a long travel day from Durango to Virgin, Utah but the herd and I did ok. Honestly, I napped quite a bit since my legs are too short to drive anyway. After such a long drive, I was hangry! When we pulled up to our covered wagon; I insisted my supper was the top priority to be unloaded from the car. I love my ground bison, quinoa and a bit of lamb kibble. It is the perfect blend of yummy! The outdoor kitchen proved immediately useful, I have to say.

We were only in the little wagon one night before we moved to a teepee. That said, the wagon was so cute and the outdoor space was really nice. There was the most beautiful grass right behind our wagon which had the best sniffs and felt good on my paws when it was time to do my duty, if you know what I mean. The wagon would be perfect for a couple (alone or with children). There are some metal steps going up the wagons; so, anyone with mobility issues should probably check out the teepees.
After we snoozed in the wagon, we took a long walk around the resort. They must've had a vision of all the things Lila desires in a campground/resort for top marks ... lots of sniffs, lots of activity to observe, pretty pond with water sounds, bison (supposedly, I didn't see them which is ok because I don't know if we would get along), smooth paved roads and really nice staff. I could've stayed here for weeks and walked 5 - 10 times a day. My sister hates to sit down and relax; so, she was thrilled to walk anytime I got an itch to wander!

We didn't stay in a cliff dwelling cabin, but they looked really fun! Those rocks had super sniffs .... there was a cat that came out at night and peed all over them! I yielded when instructed because I am a "good citizen"!
On our walk, I couldn't help but notice the big RV spots with amazing scenery in the background. I could really see myself enjoying a pawty with my herd by a fire at our campsite in the future. Sister is going to sell my RV because it is too much rig for us ... whatever that means ... I have my heart set on a Super C motorhome ... Daddy and I have discussed it at great lengths and agree it would be fun ... my downer of a sister says it isn't in the cards unless she wins the lottery ... I really don't appreciate or accept that answer since my Daddy and I like to get our way most of the time. So, time will tell!

White Bison had amazing RV accommodations in addition to the fun glamping (wagons, teepees, cliff dwellings)!

I have an overwhelming need to share and document some pics my Daddy and I took when checking out the most amazing Newmar Super C Motorhome at Byerly RV in Eureka, MO. Anyone can see that we clearly need a motorhome to continue our travels (see all the empty states with no sticker, see the open space where magnets should be and stickers should be on our Adventures with Lila board). My sister is being unreasonable. Also, she is a rotten thief! She yanked my travel stuffies and cow print bedding out of my Fifth Wheel RV and dressed her bed with them! Oh My Little Paw!
Ok, I need to calm down. I get passionate when someone tells me that I can't have what I want ... what I need in this case! Back to our stay at the White Bison, we were there 5 nights and had so much fun! I had done some research and learned that Zion National Park isn't all that pet-friendly. In fact, the main part of the park with the exciting hiking can only be accessed via shuttle ... so, we couldn't even drive through because doggies aren't allowed on the shuttle. My herd said if Lila can't go, we don't go. As it turned out, we found so much to do that we had to make choices because we didn't have time for everything! So, I was worried for no reason at all.

We went to the towns of Hurricane and Springdale often where my people enjoyed some really tasty food. I mean, I didn't taste the food ... but I got some sniffs and WOW! Main Street Cafe in Hurricane checked all the boxes: great food, outstanding service, clean, dog-friendly patio! Wild Thyme Bistro in Springdale had seating on the lawn (yet no doggies, I stayed in the car), amazing views and steak that smelled like it was mouth-watering! Lupitas Mexican restaurant had proof that there are lady Bigfoot out there ... we see Bigfoot evidence almost every new place we travel but here we had undeniable proof that there are ladies too!! I wore my boots when we shopped in Springdale because that Utah sun is no joke!

Zion National Park ... lots of rocks ... a young mule deer at the visitor center (I seriously considered giving it "the business" but decided I should keep a low profile and just watch it). We went through a 1.1 mile tunnel ... holy moly, it was long!

Kolob Canyon was a fun side adventure ... Daddy and I decided to pose for a pic ... I'm wearing my boots ... he is wearing his favorite shoes he got in Cody, Wyoming last year. Aren't we cute? I love Daddy's new orange hat he got in Zion, I can find him even if I can't smell him!

Red Canyon was such a beautiful area to drive through on the way to Bryce Canyon! I'm glad I wasn't sleeping when we drove through!

Bryce Canyon was beautiful! There were lots of turnouts where I could get out and walk around.

We saw a sign for the Pink Sand Dunes in Kanab, Utah. Sister wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Do you see coral pink sand? Or, like me, do you see red-brown sand the same color as all the rocks in the area? We all humored sister until we got to the check-in and they wanted money to let us see the sand dunes. Mommy said she wasn't getting out of the car. I said I was afraid of getting sand in my boots and it would be a hard pass for me. Daddy said he needed to go potty after the long ride to get there. So, Sissy talked the lady into letting us shop the gift shop, use the facilities and then book it back to the White Bison Resort for an evening stroll without paying to use the park (although, I was doing the math and she paid more in the gift shop than the entry fee would've been ... she isn't too smart sometimes).
Oh my goodness! I got so upset thinking about being told I couldn't get a new Newmar motorhome that I forgot to tell you about our teepee!!! It was all that and a bag of elk treats ... which is high praise indeed!

Look how close the wagons and teepees are to each other. I've seen old Westerns. I was worried. Would we be safe? Would there be conflict? Would I need to hide my treats? I did hear a drunk lady in a wagon complaining about a barking dog in another wagon ... but other than that, I never felt like we were in danger. My herd loved the big shower ... I was worried they would try to get me to jump in ... that wasn't going to happen and I'm happy to report they didn't propose such foolishness!
After we left Zion, we went to Moab and continued the fun of the 2026 Spring Adventure! I'll tell you all about Moab next time. Spoiler: it was dusty but fun!
Thanks for reading my postcard. Have a blessed day! I put a video showing a bit more of the White Bison resort on my instagram @OnTheRoadWithLila if you want to see more.
