Colorado Got Interesting
My sister had planned an overnight stop near some sand dunes in Colorado after La Junta on the way to Durango. I was horrified after a long day of travel when we pulled into the road leading to our next stop. Dust covered our car like that Pig-Pen boy that Snoopy knows! I was worried: where would I potty (not a fan of dust bowls), would my boots get too dirty, would my treats get contaminated?
I was saved from excessive anxiety because Mommy and Sissy went to check the room before we took stuff inside and they came out with looks on their faces that told me we weren't staying. Sure enough, we made our way back through the dust and drove to the perfect overnight spot in South Fork, Colorado called LOGE Wolf Creek.
Sister doesn't usually like places with outside entry doors ... but I do ... and I loved running in and out so many times. My human herd grabbed a breakfast at the cafe the next morning and said it was good (I mean, I can't verify because they gave me nothing ... rude).
We even saw a big black bear right behind our room! My slow sister didn't get her camera fast enough; however, you better believe we saw that bad boy! If I had been behind the safety of the car window, I would've given that bear "the business". Since I was on the parking lot and I'm pretty sure he could climb down the hill to me quickly; I decided to watch him quietly.

I would go back here 100% if passing through the area again.

Oh My Little Paw! We drove through an area called Wolf Creek Pass, located in Colorado's San Juan Mountains and it was so beautiful! There were rivers, waterfalls and overlooks along the way. That means that I get out of the car more often and my Daddy holds me ... I love that so much! Sissy made up for not getting a picture of the bear by grabbing a few photo memories of this travel day to Durango from South Fork.

I may have to talk the herd into visiting this area again so we can explore rather than just drive through. Maybe we can get a picture of a bear ... did I tell you that my sister wasn't fast enough?
Pagosa County had an overlook that was almost as good as elk treats (I said almost, elk treats are really hard to beat)!

See what I mean?
I don't know why my sister stopped on the side of the highway to look at this rock! It wasn't that interesting to me. If she had let me out of the car, I'm pretty sure I could have gotten in some good sniffs on the side of the road but she was very inconsiderate! Good thing she came through with the perfect room by the riverwalk in Durango ... I'll tell you about Durango the next time!

Until we chat again ... be blessed ... I appreciate you ... enjoy a tasty elk treat!
